Christmas trees aren’t just for trimming anymore!

Who would of thought this …. useing your christmas tree needles as herbs for spursing up chicken and soups … chefs now cook with clippings of pine, spruce and fir. Evergreen sprigs taste woodsy, similar to rosemary.

Try these dishes …..

Toss pine sprigs with  roasted vegetables and evoo while they’re still hot from the oven.

Grind 1/2 cup each spruce tips and kosher salt with 1/4 cup coriander seeds and use as a spice rub for beef or lamb.

Soak spruce overnight in 2 cups of honey, then brush onto cooked chicken or turkey skin.
